dandelions would bloom
from my forehead when you
place my cheek on your chest

and from the flesh of my forearms
would blossom honeysuckle,
yellow and white petals
with vines twining
round my limbs

and from my fingers
fennel would flower
as i heard the thrumming
between your ribs

NaPoWriMo Day 6: “Today, write a poem that emphasizes the power of “if,” of the woulds and coulds and shoulds of the world.”
